Lowo Cave (Guo Lowo) is located in Watuagung village, Watulimo district, about 30 km South East of Trenggalek city, on the way to Prigi Beach, Karanggongso Beach, Damas Beach. When the visitor have received by fresh air and the cool mountain with teak forest aroma, because the location of Lowo cave is surrounded by teak forest. From the park area to the cave, the road is split of teak forest. And when arrive at the mouth of the cave, the tourists welcomed by a wide cave room that looks like a hall. The cave roof is about 20-50 meters; the wide is about 50 meters. The cave wall is decorated by various kinds of panorama and decoration.


The beautiful of the wall with its stalactites and stalagmite, are looks so artistic with its light. Based on the cave expert person, Mr. Gilbert Manthovani and Dr. Robert K Kho in 1984, it is declared that Lowo cave is the big natural cave in south east Asia with its length is 800 meters, nine main rooms and some small rooms. To enjoy the wonder and beauty of the cave, there are bridges and artistic electric lamps a long the cave. Out side the cave there are playground facilities for children and wide parking area.

The Founding of Lowo Cave
A man named Lomedjo was came to a jungle looking for a place to had meditation. Then, he found a small cave that suitable for his meditation, which is near to a pool. He named the pool as the 'blue pool' (Kedung biru). Its located is about 600 meters of Lowo cave (this place is still used for meditation place by some people).
Because his pray and effort beg to the God, finally he got a dream that there is a big cave around his meditation place, which is become the animals hide.
One day, he found a big, dark and smell cave. Because there are a lot of bat in that cave, then this cave called Lowo cave. And the meditation place is about 600 meters of east side of the Lowo cave.

Prigi Beach is located in Tasikmadu village Watulimo district. It constitutes the most beautiful natural tourism object in Trenggalek regency and equipped with such facilities as Parking Area, Camping Site / Ground, Sport Center, Hotels, Restaurants, Etc. Beside to this Beach is a part of fish sale center. It can be reached by land transportation like buses and public van.   Prigi Beach is known for its magnificient rock formations. The most attractive part of this beach is its Southwestern coast. It includes a main bay, used by fishing boats as a harbour. The beach is also the site of Larung Semboyo, a sea festival worth attending. In the trip to Prigi Beach, the visitor could enjoy the beauty of nature for the length of the trip. Prigi Beach is known also as whichever fisheries tourist attraction to be gotten the big fishing port.

Trenggalek is situated on the South-West of Surabaya, the Capital city of East Java Province, and bordered by Tulungagung in the East, Indonesian Ocean in the South, Pacitan and Ponorogo in the West, Ponorogo and Tulungagung Regencies in the North.
Trenggalek covers 126.140 Ha, a part of it, is mountainous and the rest is lowland. And tourism places which is very exciting as the other objects.

Trenggalek regencies is enriched with various potential natural resources such as: maining material (marble, limestons, meteorit, orcher, piropillit, feldspar, caolin, trass, sandstons, etc). Agriculture product (rice, corn soja), plantation products (coffee, colve, cacao, coconut mangosteen, zalacca and durian), forest products (such as terpentine as row material for gondorukem / gum) and tourism places which so exciting as the other objects.
There are many visitors often visit this regency to spent their holiday. The visitors are interesting with Trenggalek's tourism objects, such as: Prigi Beach, Damas Beach, Pelang Beach, Karanggongso Beach, Lowo Cave, and also Trenggalek's traditional art and food. Its beautiful and origin beaches are able to invite many visitors. Those visitors are also interesting in Trenggalek's anniversary. It usually held some of traditional attraction, which very interesting.
As coastal area, Trenggalek has many fishermen who can catch many fresh fishes from the sea. They have annual ceremony that called "Larung Semboyo". This ceremony is mean to thank to God because of His blessing to all fishermen.
Don't be hesitated to visit Trenggalek. Enjoy its beaches, traditional food and the other interesting places in Trenggalek.
